Learn Hebrew - Combing Words

I almost forgot about today's new word. It is the end of the day so I have less time to remember! Here's a recap of what I've learned so far:

  1. shavu'a - week
  2. hayom - today
  3. machar - tomrorow
  4. etmol - yesterday
  5. shanah - year
  6. luach shana - calendar
  7. sh'niyah - second
  8. sha'ah - hour
Hayom, I said I would start combining more hours. Yesterday I asked my husband the proper way to say: what time is it? He said "ma sha'ah" would suffice. I wasn't sure if it would work out that way, but it is actually a phrase someone would understand apparently. You can compare "ma" (what) and "ma ze" (what is it) with almost anything.

My word for today is dakah, which means minute. Sticking with the same theme will definitely help me combine words and understand more easily. Apparently, you can also say "dakah, dakah" when you are being rushed, like saying "just a minute, just a minute". Also good to know.

Again, so far so good. At this pace, I'll be able to keep up very nicely.

Ad machar....
